The Oakridge Major Novice “B” team powered their way past a stunned North London team to progress to finals at the LMHA Thunder Classic over the March 21-22 weekend.
Holding off a hard-charging team, the Oakridge team played a game-of-the-season to hold onto their 1-0 lead. Until this game the boys had only managed one tie against North during the season. In this, their final match-up, everyone on
the team stood up to the task.
Led throughout the tournament by the brilliant kick-saves of goalie Tyler L., both defense and offense responded to all challenges. Tired by the game against North, they tried valiantly to win against Sarnia in the finals, but sadly, it was not to be this time.
Congrats to Cooper M. for being voted Tournament MVP.
Special mention to Marco M. for his team leading 8 points over the 6 games, and Matt C. (5 points).
All the parents and coaches were extremely proud of their never-say-die attitude, good sportsmanship, and camaraderie to each other throughout the tournament.
