During the January 15-16-17 weekend the Oakridge Aeros major novice "A" played in the SSE Wild tournament.

The first game saw us battle against our rivals the Bandits . After a regular season 8-8 tie on Jan 13th, this game poved to be much more defensive ending in a 1-1 tie. Great goaltending at both ends.

Game two saw us play the Grand Rapids Griffins and the boys skated to a convincing 7-0 victory. Shutout for Nick. Next up was the East Gwillumbury Eagles, a team that we beat in Owen Sound. After an early 2-0 deficit, the kids regrouped and skated to a 7-4 win.

Game four was a tough Hamilton Tigers team. A great skating team they were but our guys came to play and took an early lead. Up 4-1 going into the third the Tigers fought their way back to 4-3 and almost tied with six seconds to go but Drew saved the game and cleared the puck that was sitting in the crease.

Off to the championship on Sunday to play the Hamilton Tigers again. A great effort again by all but a Strong Hamilton team came out on top. A great weekend was had by all and our kids should hold their heads up high.
