On Friday February 12th the Oakridge Aeros Major Novice team travelled to St. Catharines for the John McDonald Memorial Tournament. Our first game was up against the St. Catharines Kiwanis. It was a bit a lopsided affair with Oakridge coming out on top 10-0. Shutout for Nick! Later that night seven members of the team participated in the skills competition and placed second, great work guys! Next up the Hurricanes were a team that proved to be no match for the Aeros, another shutout victory, 7-0. Saturday afternoon we were up against the Waterloo Mountainwolves, a bit tougher challenge but we still prevailed with a 7-1 victory. Off to the semis and a date with a familiar foe, the Sarnia Sting. It was a great game with the Aeros coming out ahead again 7-2. Off to the championship game against a very strong North team. A great effort by our guys but couldn't quite pull it off; North 5 Aeros 2. A great weekend by a great group of guys. Thanks to all!
