A blast of winter weather over the first weekend in January didn’t slow down the Aeros as they went 5-0 to win the 2010 Delhi Houseleague Tournament.  

After a great start, a 2-0 victory over Brantford, the team had to battle back to take the second game against a tough team from Ingersoll.

With incredible energy and a great effort from everyone the team showed spirit and determination during each game, but in particular on day 2 when the competition intensified.   With the pace of the game picking up our Oakridge team was able to match teams on both ends of the ice – never giving up.  

The final championship game pitted the 2 undefeated teams, Oakridge and the host team from Delhi.  After trailing 1-0 on a questionable goal the team rallied back to tie up the game.  With under 2 minutes to go they banged in a beautiful goal to take a lead that they would not surrender.  With the goalie pulled and a few great chances turned away the Aeros capped off the start 2010 New Year by bringing home their championship trophies.

After the game, Head Coach Brent LaForge commented that “each and every player contributed 100%”, going on to say that “ the kids played their best games as a team during the tournament”.  Congratulations to all of the Oakridge Aeros Atom Champs!
