Coaches and Trainers Clinics (Register Early – Class fill up fast!)
Updated July 8, 2008
The Board has adopted a new program to help our Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Trainers continue their professional development. We want to recognize and thank you for putting in the time to become more knowledgeable and help the players. Therefore we will reimburse you for a Coach Stream (CS), Development Stream 1 (DS1), or Trainers course provided you are listed on an Oakridge roster and participating in our program.
Note that only Hockey Canada-approved courses give you the required coach or trainer certifications to be rostered. Non-hockey coach certifications (such as NCCP level 1, Soccer, etc.) are not transferable to an equivalent hockey certification.
WHEN ARE THE CLINICS HELD?

HOW DO I REGISTER?
· Contact the Oakridge Clinic Co-ordinator .
WHICH COURSE DO I NEED?
· All bench and on-ice personnel MUST have SPEAKOUT. There are no exceptions to this policy. Once taken, this certification does not expire.
· All Coaches must have either their Coach Stream (CS) or Development 1 (D1) certification. You must have D1 to coach a Forest City team.
· All Trainers must take Trainer Level 1 before applying for Level 2 and above. All Trainer certifications expire August 31st, 3 years after you take the course. You must recertify before the expiration date.
INFORMATION REGARDING CLINICS:
· Start times listed are when the Registration desk opens. The clinics will begin 45 minutes after that.
· There is no extra charge for the SPEAKOUT clinic if you are taking it with the Coaches clinic on the same weekend.
· Absolutely no admittance will be allowed after the start of the clinic.
· Attendance cannot be confirmed for anyone to the Trainers Recertification Clinics without first receiving the applicant’s TK1 number.
· All clinic supplies are ordered 7 days prior to the clinic date, therefore no applications or substitutions will be allowed after that date. This is particularly important for age-specific clinics.
· Helmets are mandatory for all on-ice sessions.
HOW DO I TRANSFER MY EXISTING CERTIFICATIONS?
· If you previously took your Speakout (PRS #) or Coaches certifications in a non-Alliance jurisdiction, your certifications are still valid. However, the numbers must be transferred into the Alliance database. Please send copies of your current certification numbers and your complete address to:
ALLIANCE HOCKEY Office:
71 Albert Street
Stratford, Ontario
N5A 3K2
The Office will then mail you your new card.
QUESTIONS OR WANT MORE INFORMATION?
· Please see the Alliance website for more information on coaches and trainer courses.
· Please contact the clinic co-ordinator, Oakridge Aeros’ Clinic Liaison at Clinics@OakridgeHockey.ca.
*NOTE - HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL ON-ICE SESSIONS*
