Oakridge Areos Novice C2 -John Henry Tournament - Champs

Over this Christmas holidays, the Oakridge Aeros Novice C2 HL team trekked out to Strathroy over a four day period, and went undefeated in their division. The effort to finish first overall resulted them becoming crowned the 2011 John Henry Tournament Novice 1 Division Championship. Every player demonstrated their best positional play so far this year. Coupled with great goaltending from Andy and Guerin, they kept the games exciting by winning each in come back style including an O/T win to. We met up with the Divison 2 champs in a ‘best overall’ match, losing by one goal in a game we outplayed the opponent for most of the game. We hope this confidence carries over into the second half of the CHL season. Great work boys, and congratulations on your championship!

Oakridge Minor Midgets Win in Motown

The Oakridge Aeros Minor Midget (96) hockey team beat Detroit Maroons 5-3 in the finals of the Motown Classic to capture the championship this past Sunday.

Oakridge went 4-0 in the tourney, scoring 19 goals for and allowing only 4 goals against, over four games. The Aeros beat the Cambridge Hawks (5-0), Eagles JV (Orland Park, IL) (5-0), and Detroit (4-1) in the preliminary round.

This early bird tourney provided a good test for the Aeros, whose exhibition, tournament and regular season record year to date now stands at 5-1-1, a solid start to the season.o

Major Bantam Aeros Motown Cup Champions

On the weekend of November 25 to 27, 2011, the Major Bantam Seeded Oakridge Aeros went undefeated at the Motown Cup, winning five straight games with a close 2-1 win over Aurora in the final. All players played well for the full 3 days and they were also able to enjoy "Saturday night at the Joe", watching the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Predators. It was a fun weekend for the players and their families.

The Oakridge Aeros Hockey Association would like to invite you to the 10th Annual Oakridge Classic to be played February 17-19, 2012 in London Ontario. Most level's will have Friday, Feb 17th day games scheduled

This tournament is for house league teams only with divisions in Novice, Atom, Pee Wee, Bantam, M/Midget, Midget.
Our divisions are tiered as Red and White. Red teams are generally higher skilled players and typically are a majority of major aged players.

All games are non contact.

Many games will be played at the state-of-the-art Western Fair Sports Centre .
